The newest AXA newsletter will be added to the website in the coming days, and will be arriving in mail boxes in the coming weeks.
The 34th Annual Original Beach Party will be held on Saturday Feb. 9th. Fools and Horses, a band that has previously opened for Bon Jovi, will be rockin' the AXA front room. Please visit foolsandhorses.net for more information if you'd like.
We'll also be holding a pre-party dinner with the band (and perhaps a few dates if we're ever-so-lucky). If you intend to come to the dinner, please blitz us (alpha.chi.alpha@dartmouth.edu) so we can order/make enough food and send you details when they become avaliable.

With rush and Homecoming on back-to-back weekends, this is an exciting time to be an Alpha Chi. A year's worth of hard recruitment work paid off this weekend as we added 24 new members. We expect to sink two more in what looks to be a very strong Class of 2010. This marks the fourth straight class of at least 20 brothers, which is a very positive sign for the stability of our fraternity.
If any of you are coming up to campus for Homecoming, we'd like to invite you to a barbeque at the house on Saturday after the football game from 4-6pm. We've always had a good turnout of alumni during big weekends, but we haven't had a singular event at which everyone can meet. If you are going to be in town, please let us know if you plan on stopping by.
Lastly, we've finally sent out our newsletter. If you haven't received a copy within a few weeks, send us your name and address and we'll make sure you get one. We will also post a color PDF version of the newsletter on this website in a few days.

We'd like to thank all of you that made it up to reunions this year. Though I was in New York, I've been told that all the current brothers had an awesome time meeting and raging with you guys. Harshil Shah '09 even called it, "the sweetest scene [he] has ever seen."
On our front, the '09s have begun their sophomore summer, and already everyone is making the best out of the beautiful New Hampshire weather. Though we were sad to see the '07s graduate, rush prospects for the 2010 class are the best in years and we expect another large and strong fall pledge class. As I'm sure you're wondering, the 2007 newsletter is near completion and we hope to send it out by the end of the month (assuming how quickly it gets through the college red tape!)
We'd like to wish everyone a happy 4th of July, and if you plan on visiting soon, please e-mail us at alpha.chi.alpha@dartmouth.edu.
Finally, posted below is an excerpt from an e-mail sent out in the spring from our current undergraduate alumni representatives, Jamie Hill '08 and Harshil Shah '09. I'm sorry it hasn't been posted sooner.

AXA President
We would like to inaugurate a new initiative of our fraternity to strengthen and develop the most important aspect of this house: the bonds between each and every member of AXA. This will allow the newer brothers to become acquainted wtih the alumni who helped make AXA what it is today. The last few years have seen us come back from the brink of extinction with strong rush classes and a house renovation, but we still have work to do.
The main thing we have decided to do is establish a permanent alumni representative in each class - Jamie Hill for the class of 2008 and Harshil Shah for the class of 2009.
Our initiatives include:
* Creating a complete AXA listserv to make information flow more smoothly between brothers on campus to alumni and between alumni themselves.
* We are also trying to set up some sort of get-together in Boston and/or New York area. If you have any suggestions on events and/or times that would be preferrable, please free to contact us.
* To update you on a topic of interest to many of you, we have received approval to turn one of the bedrooms into a Tube Room, a beloved aspect of the house which was lost upon our recent renovations.
Finally and most importantly, we are here to serve as a contact for any alums who want to stop by as you pass through Hanover or to answer any questions you might have about the current state of the house. Please do not hesitate to contact us about any ideas you might have or to just let us know how all of you are doing.
In any case, you'll hear from us again in the future and we'd love to hear what you guys are thinking as well. Feel free to stop by 13 Webster or drop us a line.

Dear AXA alums-
We hope that you have all received the recent newsletter. The house is truly in great shape right now and the '08 class had a terrific summer. Highlights included a mud wrestling contest with Sigma Delta sorority and a chicken dinner cooked by the house for the participiants of the SEAD program. Trips down to the river and cliff diving at the copper mines were a regular occasion. A really big thanks goes out to the numerous alumni who visited during the summer. The 08s really enjoyed hearing old songs and stories about life at the Magic Green Cottage.
As we look to the fall term, and a new class of pledges to learn of the ways of Ingemar, we have a couple of projects we're going to start:
Rush is the weekend of October 7th and 8th. This year we want to give you, the alums, the opportunity to be more involved in the recruitment process. Your experiences are an invaluable factor in convincing the potential 09s that joining AXA is a major part of the Dartmouth experience. We will be sending out personal invitations to area alumni in the coming weeks. Please e-mail us if you are not in the area but would still like to attend rush.
Once again this year, we are going to host a barbecue before the homecoming football game on October 14. If you are going to be anywhere near Hanover, please try to come by.
Lastly, we are planning to re-build the tube room in our expanded front room. During our renovations in the summer of 2004, the tube room, also known as the Oak Room, was torn down to make a handicap accessible bedroom. However, the new plans did not include a space to replace one of the best places in the magic cottage. (Next to The Barn of course) Right now we are obtaining college approval and we would like to provide this new common area for the upcoming pledge term.
The website, www.alphachialpha.org, is updated frequently with news and stories. You can also find pictures of the house and brothers. We are looking for more pictures, particularly from older classes, as well as any comments about the house in the general. Bringing the past of Alpha Chi back to the present is one of our most pressing goals for the upcoming year, and having you alumni being in the fold is central to that. The website can also help organize reunions, and we encourage you to contact us if you have any questions: AlphaChiAlpha@dartmouth.edu.
The ice of winter term has thawed and backyard volleyball and daily BBQ's have thankfully returned to the Cheese Lodge. After an amazing Beach Party and Spring Break, we have lined up a number of awesome events to close out the academic year. Of special note for alumni are Pigstick and Alumni Reunions, both of which are shaping up to be among the best we have ever held.
We have had some great success over the past few months in restoring precious items of house history. The walls of the house are now filled with restored composites and framed images from our past, and I would like to thank all of the alumni who made this effort possible. Well, thats all for now, Quig and Gabe will be taking over posting duties as our incoming officers and additionally, the house newsletter should be mailed shortly.

It's time to close the book on 2005 at the Cheese Lodge and brothers head home for the holidays. As always, fall term was awesome. After the initial shock of resuming classes after a lazy summer, brothers quickly rediscovered the taste of smooth beer and good company, the afternoon volleyball in the yard and football on the Green. There were newly arrived freshman to be made fun of, and the maxim "Nobody Rages Anymore" returned for yet another tour of duty. Some Teds graduated, some were arrested, while others joined the questionably prestigious ranks of Phi Beta Kappa (Say it aint so). Kegs were kicked, karaoke machines were purchased, and the cheeseball was born. Some seniors eagerly asserted their new status as kings of the basement, others simply did what they wanted without fear of the chalice. Intramural teams fought hard, and the hockey championship looms in the winter. And to cap it off nineteen new pledges form the core of the class of 2008, with another batch set to arrive in the winter.
I'd like to take this opportunity to thank those alumni who made contributions to the house, and I encourage others to do the same. Without your involvement, this house couldn't exist. In addition to the strong financial support, many alumni also made the trip up to campus to spread tales of old, and we hope to see each and every one of you up here at some point soon. Over the next year we are focusing on an effort to improve alumni involvement both financially and through increased brother-alumni communication. This website is a small part of this project, and we also are busy introducing an alumni council network and well as an periodic email notification. Finally, our schedule of events for 2006 will be posted shortly. In addition to our alumni events and parties, we are eagerly planning for the 31st annual Beach Party and Pigstick 2006. See you there.

Welcome to the new Alpha Chi Alpha website. The goal of this site is to provide a place for alumni and brothers to exchange information about the house and plan for future events. News regarding upcoming house activities as well as updates from the Green Cottage will be periodically posted in addition to our regular newsletters and emailings.
I encourage brothers and alumni to sign up for user accounts for extended access to photo galleries and the forums. Also please submit feedback on the site, so we can continue to improve its design and functionality.
